A bi-partion of seven leading journals in bioethics and philosophy of medicine
Piotr Bystranowski, Vilius Dranseika, & Tomasz Żuradzki*
A bi-partion of the set of seven leading journals in bioethics and philosophy of medicine based on the inter-journal correlations of mean prominence of 100 topics from the topic model described in Bystranowski, Dranseika & Żuradzki (2022). We conducted modularity analysis conducted using the community detection method proposed by (Blondel et al., 2008), as implemented in (Bastian et al., 2009). The highly-connected community composed of Medicine, Health Care & Philosophy (MHCP), Journal of Medicine and Philosophy (JMP), and Theoretical Medicine and Bioethics (TMB) can be interpreted as representing philosophy of medicine. The other community, consisting of Hastings Center Report (HCR), Journal of Medical Ethics (JME), American Journal of Bioethics (AJOB), and Bioethics, might represent bioethics.
